Updating references
Applies to: Standard Fault and Resolution Fault
It is always good to check references to a fault before retiring it.
How to check references
Check parent faults. Usually, parent faults will contain some references to its subfaults (child faults).
A reference can be represented as:
1. An associated object of internal link type. To update these, all you need to do is to edit them so that they point to the respective item. It could be the new fault itself (or its subfaults / subfaults of subfaults / etc.).
2. Direct link to a subfault in the body text. See example of a reference updated below before and after editing. Original fault, before editing, has a reference to old subfault.

The reference is updated to target the Cloned(new) fault, notice the "ID" value changed from 1208 to 10558 in the F tag.
