Updating references

Applies to: Standard Fault and Resolution Fault

It is always good to check references to a fault before retiring it.

How to check references

Check parent faults. Usually, parent faults will contain some references to its subfaults (child faults).

A reference can be represented as:

1. An associated object of internal link typearrow-up-right. To update these, all you need to do is to edit them so that they point to the respective item. It could be the new fault itself (or its subfaults / subfaults of subfaults / etc.).

2. Direct link to a subfault in the body text. See example of a reference updated below before and after editing. Original fault, before editing, has a reference to old subfault.

The reference is updated to target the Cloned(new) fault, notice the "ID" value changed from 1208 to 10558 in the F tag.
