Associated Objects
Applies to: Standard Fault and Resolution Step
What is an associated object
Associated objects are references to different items in the system. They usually belong to a fault and serve a linking purpose. Depending on the type of an associated object, you can have a link from a current fault to another fault in the system. Other types will allow links(or references) to documents or web links.
Associated object types
Depending on the type of the fault you are editing, when you create an associated object you will presented with one or multiple options indicated below.
Types available for Standard fault: all of the types below except Step (Standard faults don't have steps)
Types available for Resolution fault: all of the types below
Internal Link
An internal link enables you to link current fault to another fault or step within the system. This does not have be within the same category or train.

Web Link
A web link enables you to define an external URL that can be referenced from the current fault.

Step
In case you are editing a step of a Resolution fault, a step associated object allows you to easily reference another step within the same fault.

Info Page (Global Documents)
An info page is a associated object type which references one of the Global Documents.

Documents (pdf, doc, ppt)
A document is an external document such as a text file, word document or a PDF.

Associated Object (Global Web Links)
One of the options when you create an associated object is to select type called "Associated object". This means that your associated object will reference another associated object in the system.
