Raising a change request

⛳ Different ways to flag faults for review

In Faults & Failures

  1. Select Faults & Failures from the left side bar (if you are in the home screen) or from the top navigation under Incident Assistance

  2. Locate the fault you want to flag (see Locating a fault for editing for a more detailed guide).

  3. Click. This button will be near the top right corner.

Nothing will happen while you work on the fault but once it is closed, you will be able to fill in details regarding the changes that need to be made (look at Add information to change request to see how).

In Rules & Regs

  1. Select Rules & Regs from the left side bar (if you are in the home screen) or from the top navigation under Incident Assistance

  2. Locate the item you want to flag

  3. Click on , you can do this multiple times

  4. Click , you will see this button on the bottom left corner

You will be redirected to change request page where you can add information for the items you've flagged. Go to Add information within Change Request page to see how to do so.

In Assistance Matrix

  1. Select Assistance Matrix from the left side bar (if you are in the home screen) or from the top navigation under Incident Assistance

  2. Select the Stricken Train and Assisting Train you are interested in

  3. Select the category of where your fault lives

  4. Then locate the fault you want to flag and click on it

  5. Click on

  6. Click , you will see this button on the bottom left corner

You will be redirected to change request page where you can add information for the items you've flagged. Go to Add information within Change Request page to see how to do so.

🖥️ Viewing your change requests

To get to the Change Request page shown above follow these steps:

  1. At the top navigation, locate Change Request

  2. Click on Change Request

  3. If you are in the home page, simply click on Change Request from the left side bar.

Change Request

There are multiple columns that identify specific things about your change request, they are: (left to right)

  1. Date Noted - the date when you created your change request

  2. Train - the train class associated with the fault

  3. Category - the category which your change request have

  4. Fault - the fault which you invoked change request for

  5. Step - this column shows which step in the resolution fault you requested change for

  6. Description - shows description of the changes you want to be made, the admin will be able to see this and implement this if admin agrees with your change request. You can also modify or create this description by clicking on the edit button

  7. Administrator comment - this is where you will see any comments that the admin responsible for you change request has made. This can be use if admin wants clarification on the request you made

  8. Closed? - this column will show a when its been closed or empty it's not been processed yet

  9. Tools - you will find the edit button on this column. Clicking on this will allow you to add information about your change request. Refer to Add information to change request (as a user) to find out how.

🆕 Add information to change request (as a user)

There are two scenarios in which you can edit change request but ultimately achieves the same outcome.

Add information right after closing an incident

If you are currently resolving an incidents, and flagged something for review, you will be asked to add information about your change request after you close the incident (see animation below).

1. Close the incident

If you've flagged only one fault for review, after you've closed the incident, you will immediately be shown a form where you can add information about your change request.

2. Add description of suggested changes

3. Click Save at the bottom right corner of the page

If you've flagged more than one fault for review, after the incident is closed you will be redirected to Change Request page (see Viewing your change request) where you have to edit the request to fill in the details.

1. Close the incident.

After closing, you will see in the Change Request page the items that you've just flagged will have No description of request set yet value in its Description column

2. Click the edit button.

3. Add information to your change request within the field Description of Suggested Changes

You will also see the details of the fault that you've flagged under the Description of Suggested Changes field

4. Click Save at the bottom right corner of the form

5. Repeat the process for the other items that don't have description yet
